Adsense: It is the best way to monetize any sort of website or a blog as long as the “Terms of service” is met. The advertisement are displayed contextually, it has about 80% success rate of displaying relevant advertisements. The payout is 100$ every month and if you don’t achieve it then the amount would be carried over to the next month.

Adbrite: For some, it is considered as one of the best alternative to Adsense. Webmasters use it when they don’t get approved for Adsense or even if they get banned then Adbrite would be the next choice. The payout is not all that great but it’s just another alternative to Adsense.
Adversal: This advertising agency is relatively new and not very common. But the payout is very impressive provided you have the majority of traffic from US, UK, Canada and alike. So if your website receives a lot of European, American traffic it would fetch you some nice payout.
Infolinks: The advertisements displayed through Infolinks are affiliated with Google search results. The ads are displayed in an interactive format within a certain keyword. Payout is pretty normal and you can use it with Adsense.
Direct Advertising: If none of the above worked for you then I would suggest you to try selling banner space or text ads sales. If your website is receiving a good amount of traffic then you can just sell a small banner space for a set amount of money to other webmasters. If you do not want to do that then your other choice is selling text ads. Majority feels that you will get more money if you sell ads spot site wide than on just the homepage, while there are advertiser who choice on homepage only. Well, it’s a free world out there :)
But just a word of cautious, work on to be ‘choosy’ on who are your advertisers. Pick those which are relevant and of good quality instead ! Bring them on as value-added resources for your visitors. That would probably makes a better strategy.
Well it’s easier said than done, so it’s all up to you now. Go ahead and try a couple of them and you’ll find out what is best for you. As I have mentioned in here start with Adsense if you really want to see some good results.
